Elon Musk breaks silence on the $44B Twitter deal through a meme

Billionaire Elon Musk has taken a swipe at microblogging site Twitter who has threatened to sue the Tesla and SpaceX CEO over the termination of the $44 billion deal.

On Monday, however, he shared a meme, mocking the legal threat by the social media giant to sue the world’s richest person.

The first remark said, “They said I couldn’t buy Twitter”. The next one said “Then, they wouldn’t disclose Bot information.” This is followed by “Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court.” The last one reads, “Now, they have to disclose bot info in court.”

A letter sent by his team read, “As further described below, Mr Musk is terminating the Merger Agreement because Twitter is in material breach of multiple provisions of that Agreement.”

“In short, Twitter has not provided information that Musk has requested for nearly two months notwithstanding his repeated, detailed clarifications intended to simplify Twitter’s identification, collection, and disclosure of the most relevant information sought in Musk’s original requests,” it added.

“The Twitter Board is committed to closing the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement,” Twitter Chairman Bret Taylor tweeted on Friday.

As per a report by US daily, The Hill, the microblogging site has hired a large New York-based law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz LLP as it prepares to sue Musk. Twitter will file its lawsuit in Delaware next week. Meanwhile, Musk is being represented by the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
