CBSE Issues FAQs for Accurate Submission of List of Candidates for 2024-25 Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to guide affiliated schools in accurately submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2024-25 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. These guidelines are designed to help schools avoid errors and ensure a smooth examination process.

CBSE has emphasized the critical importance of correct data submission and adherence to updated guidelines to prevent any issues during the exam cycle. Schools are also advised to keep their login credentials secure, urging them to change passwords upon receipt and maintain confidentiality to avoid potential misuse.

Key Points from the FAQs

  • What are the new instructions for LOC submission?
Schools must ensure accurate submission of student data and the subjects they have chosen. CBSE will not accept any excuses from schools regarding incorrect data, and no changes will be made once the LOC is submitted.
  • What happens if a student’s data is submitted incorrectly in the LOC?
Corrections can only be made after the result declaration. The data submitted in the LOC is considered final, and no changes will be allowed before the exams. Schools have had access to this data for two years for Class 10 students and four years for Class 12 students.
  • Can subjects be changed after the LOC submission?
No, subjects cannot be corrected once submitted. Students will need to appear for the subject filled in the LOC during the main examination. However, after the exams, students may be allowed to correct the subject and appear in the supplementary exams.
  • What is LOC submission?
LOC is a mandatory registration process for Class 10 and 12 students, without which they cannot appear for the board exams in the 2024-25 session. Schools must complete this process online.
  • What are the key dates for LOC submission?
The LOC submission for the 2024-25 session began on September 5, 2024, and the deadline is October 4, 2024. CBSE has clearly stated that no extensions will be granted.
