Nearly 3 Lakh Candidates to Appear for CAT 2025; Admit Cards Release on November 12

Aspirants of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 should note that IIM Kozhikode has postponed the release of CAT admit cards to November 12. The exam, scheduled for November 30, 2025, will see nearly 2.95 lakh candidates competing for admission to the country’s top management institutes.

CAT 2025 Admit Card Release: Key Details

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, the official authority for CAT 2025, has confirmed that hall tickets will now be available on the official CAT website iimcat.ac.in. Candidates must use their login credentials to download the admit card.

Initially, the admit cards were expected on November 5, but the institute has advised all candidates to rely solely on the official portal for accurate information and avoid unofficial sources.

2.95 Lakh Candidates Registered for CAT 2025

According to IIM Kozhikode data, 2.95 lakh candidates will appear for CAT this year, slightly higher than last year’s 2.93 lakh registrations. The gender distribution in 2024 included 1.07 lakh female candidates, 1.86 lakh male candidates, and 5 transgender candidates.

CAT 2025 Exam Pattern

The CAT 2025 will be conducted across India in three sessions on November 30, 2025. The exam duration is 120 minutes and covers three sections:

  1. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC)

  2. Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)

  3. Quantitative Ability (QA)

Mock Test and Exam Security

From November 12, a mock test with sample questions will be available on the CAT website, helping candidates familiarize themselves with the exam interface and question types.

To maintain exam integrity, IIM Kozhikode will implement security measures, including the deployment of mobile jammers at select test centers.

5 Preparation Tips for CAT 2025 Aspirants

  1. Practice Sectional Tests Daily – Enhance speed and accuracy in VARC, DILR, and QA.

  2. Analyze Mock Tests Thoroughly – Identify mistakes and revise weak areas.

  3. Strengthen Mental Calculations – Quick calculations are crucial for QA.

  4. Improve Reading Stamina – Regularly read editorials and comprehension-heavy material for VARC.

  5. Stay Calm and Maintain Routine – Stick to a consistent study plan and ensure proper rest.

Consistency matters more than last-minute cramming. Daily practice, honest analysis, and a calm mindset can significantly improve your performance.
