Subhas Chandra Bose and his unwavering commitment to freedom

Today marks the 126th birthday anniversary of one of India’s greatest freedom fighters, Subhas Chandra Bose. Known as “Netaji”, Bose dedicated his life to the struggle for Indian independence from British colonial rule.

Bose was born in Cuttack, Odisha, in 1897 and was a brilliant student, graduating from the University of Calcutta with a degree in philosophy. He began his political career as a member of the Indian National Congress but was eventually expelled due to his more radical views.

Undeterred, Bose continued to work for Indian independence and eventually formed the Forward Bloc, a coalition of anti-British Indian political parties. He also formed the Indian National Army (INA) to fight against the British and sought support from other countries, including Japan and Germany, to aid in the fight for Indian independence.

Bose’s unwavering commitment to his beliefs and his determination to fight for what he believed in, despite facing many obstacles, is an inspiration for all of us. His selfless dedication to the cause of freedom serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our forefathers for the country’s independence.

As we celebrate his birthday, it’s important for students to learn about Bose’s life and legacy. His story is not only a source of inspiration but also a valuable lesson in patriotism, perseverance, and leadership. It is an opportunity for students to understand the sacrifices made for the freedom we enjoy today and to be grateful for the same.

Once again, on the birthday anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose marks an important day in India’s history, and it’s a reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.
