Tackling Board Exam Depression through Vaastu: Tips for Students

Vaastu tips for students: Board exams are a crucial juncture in every student’s academic journey. The pressure to perform well coupled with the fear of failure often leads to stress and anxiety, commonly known as “board exam depression.” While there are various strategies to cope with exam stress, one unconventional approach that some students and families turn to is Vaastu Shastra, an ancient Indian architectural science believed to harmonize energies within a space. In this article, we will explore how students can use Vaastu principles to create a conducive environment for studying and alleviate board exam-related stress.

1. Optimal Study Area: According to Vaastu, the study area should ideally be in the northeast or east direction of the house. This direction is associated with the energy of knowledge and concentration. Students can set up their study table facing east or northeast to enhance focus and mental clarity while studying.

2. Decluttering: A clutter-free environment is essential for a clear mind. Vaastu recommends removing unnecessary items from the study area to allow the free flow of positive energy. Students should keep their study space tidy and organized to promote productivity and reduce distractions.

3. Proper Lighting: Adequate lighting is crucial for studying effectively. Natural light is preferred in Vaastu, so students should try to study during the day in well-lit areas. If studying at night, soft, warm lighting is recommended over harsh fluorescent lights to create a soothing ambiance.

4. Color Psychology: Colors can significantly impact mood and concentration. According to Vaastu, soft pastel shades like light green, blue, or yellow are ideal for study rooms as they promote calmness and mental clarity. Avoid using dark or overly bright colors, as they can be distracting.

5. Balanced Elements: Vaastu emphasizes the balance of the five elements – earth, water, fire, air, and space – within a space. Students can incorporate these elements into their study area through subtle decor choices. For example, placing a small indoor plant (earth element) or a bowl of water (water element) can create a harmonious environment conducive to learning.

6. Avoid Distractions: Vaastu advises against having distractions such as television, electronic gadgets, or mirrors in the study area. These items can disrupt concentration and negatively impact study sessions. Students should keep their study space free from distractions to maintain focus and productivity.

7. Positive Vibes: Surrounding oneself with positive energy is essential for combating exam stress. Students can display motivational quotes, inspiring artwork, or religious symbols in their study area to uplift their spirits and stay motivated during challenging times.

8. Proper Ventilation: Good air circulation is vital for maintaining a healthy study environment. Vaastu recommends opening windows regularly to allow fresh air to flow into the room. Proper ventilation can prevent feelings of stagnation and promote mental alertness.

9. Comfortable Seating: Students should invest in a comfortable chair and desk to prevent physical discomfort during long study sessions. According to Vaastu, the study chair should have a solid backrest and be positioned in such a way that the student faces east or northeast while studying.

In conclusion, while Vaastu Shastra may not be a scientifically proven method for defeating board exam depression, creating a harmonious study environment based on its principles can certainly contribute to a student’s overall well-being and academic success. By implementing these Vaastu tips, students can create a conducive space for studying, alleviate stress, and approach their board exams with confidence and clarity of mind. Remember, while external factors like Vaastu can play a role, personal discipline, and effective study habits are equally essential for exam preparation.
