Navratri 2025 Day 2: Worship of Maa Brahmacharini

The second day of Navratri is dedicated to Maa Brahmacharini, the goddess who symbolizes penance, discipline, and devotion. She is depicted as a serene goddess holding a rosary (mala) in one hand and a kamandalu (water pot) in the other, walking barefoot.

Maa Brahmacharini represents the path of spirituality, meditation, and sacrifice. Worshipping her is believed to bring wisdom, strength, and freedom from troubles in life.

Auspicious Color for Day 2 – White

The color associated with Day 2 is White, representing peace, purity, and serenity.

  • Wearing white is believed to calm the mind and attract blessings of wisdom and inner strength from Maa Brahmacharini.

What to Wear on Navratri Day 2

  • For Women:

    • Sarees, lehengas, churidars, or anarkali suits in white, off-white, or ivory.

    • Add silver or pearl jewelry for an elegant and divine look.

  • For Men:

    • White kurta-pajamas or dhotis, paired with a dupatta or stole.

Rituals and Puja Vidhi

  1. Kalash Worship: Continue the Kalash sthapana rituals established on Day 1.

  2. Offerings: Devotees offer sugar, milk, and jasmine flowers to Maa Brahmacharini.

  3. Mantras and Aarti: Chanting “Om Devi Brahmacharinyai Namah” and performing aarti is considered highly auspicious.

  4. Fasting: Many devotees observe vrat (fast) and consume only fruits, milk, and satvik food.
