How Lifestyle Choices Impact Your Sexual Wellness

Lifestyle Choices That Impact Your Sexual Wellness: Many men assume that aging-related declines in sexual function are normal. However, you shouldn’t assume that depressing changes in your sexual function are unavoidable or permanent.

Your general health and the lifestyle decisions you make that impact your health will determine how well you can mate. Your capacity to obtain and sustain an erection and to enjoy physical closeness is greatly influenced by those lifestyle choices, regardless of age.

“Sexual well-being is important! It plays a significant role in your general health and wellbeing. Health issues that affect your ability to have sex, whether directly or indirectly, can significantly affect your general health and wellbeing.”

Here are the simple ways anyone can start improving their sexual health on their own:

Optimize your body fat percentage – There is no doubt that our bodies’ excess fat tissue disrupts hundreds of bodily processes. Regarding this subject, fat tissue affects our sex hormones, including testosterone and estrogen levels, both directly and indirectly, as well as how they interact. Numerous other aspects, such as cardiovascular blood flow to the proper genital areas, are also influenced by fat tissue and have a significant impact on one’s health and sexual performance.

Improved health and body awareness – Understanding how your body functions and reacts to your lifestyle—including your diet, level of physical activity, stress management, and other factors—is essential for achieving optimal sexual performance.

Unfortunately, many of us aren’t very aware of our bodies until something goes wrong, like a torn hamstring or a heart attack. Some guys don’t become conscious of their bodies until they start to see symptoms of erectile dysfunction.

Lifestyle Choices That Impact Your Sexual WellnessThose changes can appear confusing, awkward, and even terrifying to someone who isn’t expecting them.

Increase and maintain regular physical activity and exercise – Aerobic and cardiovascular physical exercise promotes an improved physiological state for better blood circulation to all body parts, including men’s and women’s genital organs, which have the smallest diameter blood arteries.

Regular exercise improves your heart’s ability to circulate blood, which enhances blood flow throughout the body, especially during erections.

Aim for a mix of cardio exercise (walking, jogging, and swimming) and strength training (weights, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises).

Drink responsibly – Alcohol in moderation can help with relaxation and getting in the mood for intimacy. However, excessive alcohol consumption will impair erectile function both in the short and long term.

Stop smoking – Quitting smoking benefits your body in a variety of ways, but it also reduces the impact of ROS on your body’s synthesis of nitric oxide, which is important for sexual health. When you stop smoking, your nitric oxide levels rise again.
