Plastic Surgery Techniques to Combat Excess Fat
Everyone wants tight skin to look beautiful. They adopt different ways such as a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise to get that kind of fitness. But sometimes, it happens that these methods do not produce desired results in burning extra fat and tightening the loose skin. Excess abdominal skin, love handles or double chins are the major health concerns for many; they affect the overall appearance. Today, medical science provides options to reduce fat and give original shape to the problem areas.
Over the last few years, plastic surgery or nonsurgical solutions have become popular among people battling with excess fat conditions. Depending on the needs of the patient, plastic surgery science offers three body-contouring procedures – liposuction, tummy tuck, and cool sculpting. They are extremely effective procedures to get the desired look. Let’s known about them in detail.
1. Liposuction
It is a shape-changing procedure applied to remove stubborn fat from a specific part of the body. It can remove all the excess fat, i.e. 100% fat, from the affected area. Liposuction can be used to remove fat from areas such as the abdomen, arms, breasts, chin, thighs, hips, buttocks, and others.
Procedure of Liposuction
Surgeons use SAFE technique which stands for -Separation, Aspiration and Fat Equalisation. At the beginning, fat cells are separated. Then, the surgeon aspirates them with fluid. Then, the fat cells are distributed in the area to make the skin appear smooth and natural. Lasers or heat-based tools are used in liposuction. You can go for liposuction if you have a large area or multiple areas of extra fat. The recovery time varies, depending on the type of the procedure and the size of the area.
2. Tummy tuck
It is also known as abdominoplasty. It is performed to remove excess fat on the tummy and tighten the loose skin or diastasis, a condition of loose abdominal muscles due to operation during pregnancy. It is combined with 360 degree lipo to give an hourglass shape. The chances of a visible scar are very low. The surgery is performed differently for male and female patients.
Procedure of Tummy tuck
An incision is required in this process. The size of the incision depends on the area of loose skin and the muscle tissues. Then, extra fat is removed and the incision is closed, resulting in a flatter abdomen. The time of recovery depends on the size of the incision made. Metabolically active fat that makes the belly appear rounded is not removed during the procedure.
If you have diastasis, you can consider this option of surgery. You can also think about it if you have loose skin on the abdomen post-pregnancy or you want to cut extra weight.
3. Cool Sculpting
It is performed only to remove extra fat. It is required to perform the procedure twice within a month. There is no recovery time but each procedure takes around one to three hours. It can be performed on the abdomen, love handles, underarms, back, thighs, and double chin. Cool sculpting is not a very effective procedure, that’s why people looking for mild results go for it. It’s not for the people who are looking for a very toned body or complete removal of fat.
Procedure of Cool Sculpting
With the technology, fat cells are targeted and crystallised. These cells die after a certain time and the body removes them naturally. For long term effects, it is recommended to exercise regularly. You can consider this procedure if you have a few excess fat areas.
Good health is essential to receive body-contouring treatment. People with certain health conditions such as heart problems and uncontrolled diabetes are not allowed to go through the procedure. You must let the surgeon know everything about your health during consultation
