Earth Day 2024 is a time for reflection and action as we come together to celebrate our beautiful planet and raise awareness about environmental conservation. This year, amidst the challenges we face, it’s crucial to reaffirm our commitment to protecting and preserving the Earth for future generations.
As we mark Earth Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the stunning natural wonders that surround us, from lush forests to crystal-clear oceans. It’s a reminder of the incredible biodiversity and ecosystems that sustain life on Earth.
However, Earth Day is not just about admiration; it’s also about taking action. It’s a call to embrace sustainable practices in our daily lives, whether it’s reducing waste, conserving energy, or supporting eco-friendly initiatives. By making small changes, collectively, we can make a big difference in safeguarding our planet.
Some experts’ views on Earth Day 2024:
Manav Subodh- Founder of 1M1B (One Million for One Billion) states,
On this Earth Day, as we confront the theme of “Planet vs. Plastics,” let us pledge to ‘de-plastify’ the planet. To achieve this goal, we must first foster a green innovation ecosystem that nurtures alternative materials and technologies. For example, startups are already innovating with seaweed and other biodegradable resources to forge plastic alternatives. However, innovation alone isn’t enough. We need robust industry coalitions and the establishment of incubators and funds dedicated to protecting our oceans and rivers. The integration of green skills and artificial intelligence into this mission will not only accelerate our efforts but also enhance their precision and amplify their impact. De-plastification will require us to engage our young future leaders and change-makers while also mobilizing capital investment and catalyzing policy reforms. Let us promise to work collectively to reshape our planet’s future and make it a healthier home for the future.
Ankit Singhania, Director- Sales & Procurement & Co-Founder, Navitas Solar suggests,
Today, as we celebrate Earth Day, let us remember that every ray of sunlight carries the potential to power a brighter, cleaner future. By adopting solar energy and implementing sustainable practices such as proper wastewater management, recycling, and reusing waste materials, as well as optimizing plant and machinery with energy-efficient equipment, we not only reduce pollution but also pave the way for a more sustainable tomorrow for generations to come. Let’s unite in our commitment to harness the power of the sun, ensuring a greener, healthier planet for all.

The urgent need for environmental concern has prompted the clothing industry to transition to eco-friendly materials and sustainable practices. The growing customer demand and awareness of fashion-conscious clothing have enabled the fashion industry to redefine the concept of clothing and material sourcing. Sustainability holds utmost importance in the fashion industry, compelling a transformation towards eco-friendly practices and materials. It has emerged as one of the pillars of the environmental consciousness movement while reducing the environmental impact of garments as well.
As time progresses and with sustainability in mind, toy manufacturers are revolutionizing children’s playtime with new and creative options. Sustainable toys represent a significant step towards saving the environment from plastic toys and ensuring the safety of children. By opting for sustainable toys, consumers are investing in the planet’s well-being and the development and education of future generations.
When it comes to environmentally friendly packaging, brands can choose honeycomb paper and sturdy, eco-friendly carton boxes to wrap their clothing range and other essential items such as baby toys. Nowadays, brands also use label tags printed with non-toxic ink on seed paper. They curate child-safe products that are healthy and eco-friendly, causing no harm to individuals or the planet.
Matthew Taff, Co-Founder & CEO, Natch Snacks expresses,
We all understand that plastic waste production is a huge challenge facing the world today, and unfortunately it is only getting worse. Sadly, the equivalent of 2,000 garbage trucks full of plastic are dumped into the world’s oceans, rivers, and lakes on a daily bassi. Every year 19-23 million tonnes of plastic waste leaks into aquatic ecosystems, polluting lakes, rivers and seas. This problem is particularly large in India, which not only ranks #2 globally in plastic waste production, but also imports 465 crore plastic bottles annually.
As a packaged food brand, we recognize our role in the creation of plastic waste. Unfortunately, as it is today there is not a better option when your goal is to deliver products that are safe, healthy and fresh.
However, that does not mean there are not steps we can take to help offset our plastic footprint. We have proudly partnered with ReCircle and joined their Plastic Neutral Program. Through this program, we have invested in removal and processing of an equivalent amount of plastic waste from the environment. We also plan to further this initiative with collection drives, as well as campaigns aimed at raising awareness. There is always more work to be done, but we are happy to be taking these important steps towards a greener tomorrow.
