SBI Banking Services Disrupted Again: Mobile Banking & Fund Transfers Affected
For the second time this month, State Bank of India (SBI) customers experienced internet and mobile banking disruptions due to technical glitches. Users across India faced difficulties in fund transfers and accessing their accounts.
SBI Banking Outage: Downdetector Reports Peak Issues
According to Downdetector, complaints about SBI’s mobile banking services spiked between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM IST. The breakdown of reported issues includes:
📌 64% – Mobile banking failures
📌 33% – Fund transfer issues
📌 3% – ATM transaction problems
Frustrated customers took to social media to report failed transactions and login difficulties.
NPCI’s Statement on SBI Banking Outage
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) acknowledged transaction failures, stating:
“Due to financial year closing, some banks are experiencing intermittent transaction declines. The UPI system is fully operational, and we are working with affected banks for resolution.”

Recurring SBI Banking Outages: A Growing Concern
This isn’t the first time SBI customers have faced such disruptions. Earlier, on March 11, SBI experienced a four-hour outage affecting UPI and mobile banking services.
🔹 SBI’s response: The bank later confirmed that services were restored by 5:00 PM but did not specify the root cause of the problem. SBI apologized for the inconvenience faced by its 500 million+ customers.
RBI’s Stand on Banking Outages
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been pushing banks to:
