Last week the Embassy of Israel in India, in collaboration with Khushii Foundation and Arcesium, inaugurated “Amidi” – Skill Development Center that promotes women empowerment and health in Burari, New Delhi.
Amidi was established last year as a project focusing on upskilling young women from underprivileged sections of the society as general duty assistants. Over the last year this center has taught and trained many women and most of them have found employment.
Ambassador of Israel to India H.E. Naor Gilon said, “We are proud to be a part of such a great initiative. It is a special project that aims at building skills and capacity for women. This initiative is part of the ongoing activities undertaken by the embassy to celebrate the 30 years of full diplomatic relations between our countries.”
This project is now expanding its reach as the new center inaugurated will be able to accommodate more students per course. The goal of this project is to provide more women access to the programme, allowing them to receive quality training and ultimately help their families achieve financial independence.
